The South Texas IMCA Modified Series (STIMS) is an IMCA-sanctioned dirt racing touring series, uniting Modified drivers across several iconic tracks: Cotton Bowl Speedway, Heart O’ Texas Speedway, I-37 Speedway, Texana Raceway Park, and South Texas Race Ranch.
Founded with a simple mission, to give IMCA Modifieds the spotlight they deserve. STIMS has quickly grown into a fan-favorite series known for competitive racing, family-friendly events, and a deep commitment to racers and their communities.
Our Story:
STIMS began as a vision brought to life by Jacob Hortch and his family, who worked tirelessly to revive Modified racing in South Texas. Their dedication laid the foundation for a series that captured the hearts of fans and racers alike.
In its inaugural season, STIMS partnered with On Demand Shirts, a company built to give profits back to drivers, tracks, and grassroots racing. As the series gained momentum, it became clear that STIMS needed more resources and support to grow. That’s when James Cole stepped in to take the reins for the 2025 season and beyond.
Under the leadership of James Cole in partnership with Nick Robbins and Rachel Plant, STIMS is entering a bold new chapter — one focused on working in partnership with the racers and growing to tracks beyond just South Texas.
