The Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series (STIMS) is an IMCA-sanctioned dirt racing touring series built on a simple promise: to give IMCA Modifieds the spotlight they deserve. Formerly known as the South Texas IMCA Modified Series, STIMS has expanded its vision and its footprint, growing from a regional series into a Southern-wide tour that partners with tracks across Texas and the surrounding region.
Our Story
STIMS was born from a grassroots effort to revive and elevate IMCA Modified racing in South Texas. What began as a local vision quickly grew into a racer-trusted series known for consistency, fairness, and hands-on leadership. The 2025 season marked a turning point, with packed pits, passionate fans, and unforgettable moments at Cotton Bowl Speedway, I-37 Speedway, Texana Raceway Park, South Texas Race Ranch, and Heart O’ Texas Speedway.
As momentum grew, so did the opportunity. To support long-term growth and expand beyond South Texas, the series transitioned to Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series, a name that honors its roots while embracing a broader future. Under the leadership of James Cole, in partnership with Nick Robbins and Rachel Stewart, STIMS is building a racer first touring series that reflects the heart of Modified racing across the South.
